Dr. Uma Chandrika Millner
Research Scientist, BU

… leads the SanghWE curriculum development efforts focused on education and recovery from trauma. Dr. Millner is a Research Scientist at the BU Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation and has extensive experience providing psychotherapy services to diverse individuals in recovery from traumatic and violent experiences.

Dr. Oyenike Balogun-Mwangi
Phd, BU Center

…supports curriculum research and development. Oyenike Balogun-Mwangi is a Post Doctoral Fellow at the BU Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation who has research and clinical interests in women’s mental health and global mental health. Over the past 12 years, she has grown her trauma-informed clinical skills in residential, community mental health, college mental health and adult inpatient settings.

Sarah Rabenou
Licensed Creative Arts Therapist

…helps build curriculum modules that focus on holistic strategies using expressive arts and other alternate forms of healing. Sarah brings 12 years of direct clinical experience working in acute/long term/day treatment and partial hospitalization programs in psychiatry and trauma informed settings. Sarah holds a Master’s Degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Pratt institute. Currently, Sarah works on an inpatient psychiatric unit in Harlem, NY providing holistic and creative arts therapy and runs Women’s art therapy groups.

Lanada Williams
MA, NCC, LPC, LCPC

…contributes to the design and development of the Volunteer Training Module. Lanada is a licensed psychotherapist in DC/Maryland. She is trained in Crisis Trauma and is a mulitucultural expert. She is a member of American Counseling Association and the immediate Past President of the Maryland Association of Multicultural Counseling. She hosts “The Lanada Williams Show” on blis.fm and has been featured in Ebony, WebMD, EmpowHER blogger, PsyCentral and Dr. OZ.

Leah LeShane
LMHC, ATR-BC

.. brings expertise in Trauma-informed Expressive Arts Therapy and contributes to enriching the curriculum with alternative healing strategies. Leah is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Board Certified Art Therapist, with a Trauma certification and Advanced DBT training. Leah uses a blend of treatment modalities to provide individual, family and group therapy to high risk clients in under-served populations, having previously worked in inpatient, residential, and partial hospital settings, and currently in private practice. She has a special interest in preventing systematic barriers to treatment.

Preet Kaur
Ph.D Candidate, Counseling Department, The George Washington University

…contributes to curriculum development efforts focused on trauma-informed evidence-based practice and healing strategies. Preet is a doctoral student at the George Washington University and holds a research position in the Counseling department working in the area of ethnicity related health disparities. Preet has provided clinical services in a diverse range of clinical settings, with specializations in issues of trauma, grief, and loss. She strives to maintain a balance between providing clinical services, engaging in mental health applied research, and community outreach activities. To this end, she has served on the board of organizations providing services to high risk clients in under-served populations.
